I am very fortunate to work in fields where so many of my interests converge. My interest in meditation and yoga dates back to my teenage years, and I lived and worked at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts and Cambridge Insight Meditation Center in the 1980s. My meditation practice has been a ongoing presence and guide in my life, and I have been blessed to work with many wise and skillful teachers. I began training as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) instructor at the Center for Mindfulness at University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2015, and was certified as an Online MBSR Instructor through East Coast Mindfulness in 2020.

I received a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, Maryland in 1990, and have continued my studies of acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition and Asian body work since that time, completing herbal study programs with both Ted Kaptchuk and Sharon Weizenbaum. I am nationally certified in Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), which is equivalent to certifications in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology. I began my private practice in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1990, and since 2000 I have practiced at Five Seasons Acupuncture & Healing Arts in Concord, New Hampshire

I completed yoga teacher training in 2006 with Todd Norian, and yoga therapy training in 2011 with Jenny Otto. I taught yoga classes for 15 years at Living Yoga/Blossom Yoga in Concord, New Hampshire, and currently teach privately, with a focus on yoga therapy and individualized home practice.

I am deeply grateful to all of the teachers I have had the good fortune to meet in my life. In my free time, I can be found at home with my husband Jim, working in my garden, reading, hiking, traveling, or singing with the Concord Chorale, Northern Lights women’s ensemble and the Concord UU choir.

My work offers Acupuncture and East Asian Medical therapies, Mindfulness and Yoga instruction to help people feel better, suffer less and grow in life skills, understanding and compassion for themselves and others.

My work is guided by insights fundamental to many healing traditions:

  • Each person is part of the natural world, and the deepest healing comes through finding harmony with the movement of nature’s energy within, around and through us.
  • Each individual is unique, and will have a distinctive pattern of imbalance and an equally unique path of treatment, healing and flourishing.
  • The body deserves grateful, loving attention and care as our vehicle for this embodied human life.
  • Optimal health is achieved through an integrative approach, combining appropriate treatment by professionals from both complementary and conventional medical traditions with individual lifestyle choices and wellness practices.
  • The cultivation of health and well-being of body, mind and spirit can be a joyful and deeply satisfying process that leads to greater freedom, creative self-expression and compassionate action.
  • It is a privilege to serve and support a person in their healing process. As a practitioner, I aspire to cultivate ever greater skill, wisdom and openheartedness to be worthy of this trust.
